Finding the Balance Within: A Journey Towards Healthy and Harmonious Living

“Peace is not found in the absence of challenges, but in the balance, we discover within ourselves.”

The Provincial Assembly 2026, held on 29 to 30 August, was more than a gathering of Sisters. It was a gentle invitation to pause, look within and rediscover the harmony that enables us to live our vocation with joy and purpose. The theme, “Inner Balance – The Key to Healthy and Harmonious Living,” became the thread that beautifully wove together every moment of the Assembly.

The Assembly opened with prayer, reminding us that true balance begins when we place God at the centre of our lives. The Keynote Address by Sr Lilly Pereira BS, Provincial Superior, invited us to recognize that a healthy community is built by persons who are willing to grow in self-awareness, emotional maturity, relationships and spiritual depth.

The meaningful input sessions encouraged us to look at our own lives: Am I balanced in the way I pray, work, relate, rest and respond to others? We were reminded that inner balance is not about having a life without difficulties, but about learning to remain centred amidst them.

The session on Environmental Care and Waste Segregation by Mr Nagaraj Bajal widened our understanding of balance. Caring for creation is also part of living responsibly. We were reminded that the harmony we seek within ourselves must extend to our communities and to the world entrusted to our care.

The presentation of reports on Pastoral/BLA, Formation, Vocation Animation, Social, Medical and Education ministries helped us appreciate the many ways in which the Province continues its mission. Each ministry, with its joys and challenges, reminded us that harmonious living calls for shared responsibility,

The discussions on Temporal Administration, Province Concerns and the Action Plan transformed reflection into commitment. The Assembly encouraged us not merely to identify what needs to change, but to take concrete steps towards building healthier communities and a more hopeful future.

As the Assembly drew to a close, the words of the theme continued to resonate: inner balance leads to healthy relationships; healthy relationships create harmonious communities; and harmonious communities become joyful witnesses to Christ.

The concluding message of Sr Lilly Pereira BS Provincial Superior and the evaluation helped us gather the fruits of these two days. The Vote of Thanks expressed gratitude to all who contributed to making the Assembly a meaningful experience.

The Sisters departed with renewed energy and a deeper awareness that balance is a daily choice—choosing prayer amidst busyness, patience amidst difficulties, understanding amidst differences, rest amidst responsibilities and hope amidst challenges.

The Provincial Assembly was therefore not simply an event that ended on 30 August. It became an invitation to carry the spirit of inner balance into every community, ministry and relationship.

“When the heart is centred in God, life finds its balance, relationships find harmony, and service becomes joyful.”
