St Raymond’s High School, Vamanjoor, celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and a collective commitment to protect and nurture Mother Earth.
The celebration began with a symbolic act of tying balloons to trees, signifying the joy of living in harmony with nature and the importance of preserving our green spaces.
A drawing competition on the theme “Plastic-Free Environment” was held to raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic pollution. Students participated wholeheartedly, expressing their thoughts and creativity through meaningful and impactful artwork.
To extend the spirit of the day beyond the school campus, students were assigned purposeful homework — to plant saplings around their homes, clean their surroundings, and send selfies as proof of their environmental action. This initiative aimed to build a sense of responsibility and ownership towards nature at the grassroots level.
The day served as a strong reminder that environmental care begins with individual effort. St Raymond’s continues to uphold eco-friendly values, inspiring students to become responsible citizens and true stewards
