On January 19, 2025, the Twin Jubilee of SD Raymond FC Mascarenhas was joyfully celebrated at Our Lady of Remedies Church, Kirem. The celebration brought together Bethany Lay Associates (BLA) members, parishioners, and clergy, with Rev Fr George Crasta SVD serving as the main celebrant of the Eucharistic Mass. The liturgy, prepared and led by the Bethany Sisters and BLA members, was deeply meaningful and spiritually enriching.
During the solemn Mass, Rev Fr Alban D’Silva, Socius of the parish, delivered an inspiring sermon highlighting the life, vision, and mission of Fr Founder, especially his significant contributions to the Mangalore Diocese and the local church communities.
After the Eucharistic celebration, parishioners were treated to snacks sponsored by the BLA members. A joyful get-together followed at the Mother of Mercy Convent, attended by BLA members, Parish Priest Rev Fr Oswald Monteiro, Rev Fr Alban D’Silva, Fr Vishal (a parishioner), and PPC Vice President Mr Rohan D’Costa. Sr Grace Ida BS, Superior of the convent, gave a warm floral welcome to the guests and two newly joined BLA members.
To mark the occasion, Sr Hazel BS, the BLA animator, led a meaningful prayer service, followed by interactive games with prizes for the winners. In his address, Rev Fr Oswald Monteiro expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Bethany Sisters for their 54 years of dedicated service in Kirem. He acknowledged their immense contributions to education, pastoral care, and outreach to the poor and needy, while assuring continued collaboration to nurture the spiritual growth of the community.
The day’s joyful celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by Sr Diana BS and a closing prayer by Rev. Fr Alban D’Silva before dinner. The meal, enjoyed by all, fostered a spirit of unity and joy. The event was efficiently compered by Mrs Anitha D’Souza, a dedicated BLA member. As the program concluded, BLA members renewed their commitment to continuing the mission of SD Raymond FC Mascarenhas in partnership with the Bethany Sisters.
