St Raymond’s PU College, Vamanjoor Celebrates 25 Glorious years

St Raymond’s PU College, Vamanjoor, celebrated its Silver Jubilee Year with grandeur, gratitude, and joy, marking twenty-five glorious years of service in the field of education. The programme commenced with a solemn and melodious Prayer Service led by the College Choir under the guidance of Mrs Anitha, creating a serene and spiritual atmosphere. The prayer was followed by a soulful Chorus presented and a vibrant Welcome Dance, offered by the students as an expression of joy, gratitude, and celebration.

The college was honoured by the presence of Rev Sr Dr Mariette BS, General Councillor of the Bethany Congregation, who presided over the celebration. Her dignified presence and inspiring presidential address filled the gathering with renewed motivation and appreciation for the institution’s dedicated service. Rev Fr Faustine L Lobo, Director of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, added a spiritual touch by invoking Divine Blessings on the joyous occasion.

The day was further marked by several significant inaugurations symbolizing the institution’s growth and commitment to quality education. The newly established Science Park was inaugurated by Mr Lion Govardhan K Shetty, Mr Roy Castelino and Mr Nithin BT, who appreciated the college’s futuristic steps in promoting scientific learning. The upgraded IT Lab was inaugurated by Mr. Ivan D’Souza, MLC, who applauded the institution for enhancing digital infrastructure. A highlight of the day was the release of the Silver Jubilee Documentary Film by Rev Sr Dr Mariette BS, capturing the college’s 25-year journey of service and progress. The College Magazine, an annual reflection of students’ creativity and achievements, was unveiled by Rev Sr Dr Lilly Pereira, the Provincial Superior and the Corporate Manager of Mangalore Province adding literary value to the event.

The celebration was brightened by the presence of distinguished leaders and well-known personalities. Captain Brijesh Chowta, MP graced the event and extended his congratulations to the institution, while the presence of  Dr Bharath Shetty, MLA added dignity and warmth to the gathering. Their participation brought joy and pride to the celebration. The arrival of popular Tulu film actor Mr Aravind Bolar further delighted the audience. His gracious presence added a cheerful touch to the special day, leaving students and guests immensely pleased.

The institution was delighted by the presence of its esteemed Chief Guests —Mr Vincent Cutinho and Mrs Hemalatha R Salian former corporator.  Their presence brought additional charm and goodwill to the event. The college was equally pleased to welcome its Special Invitees—Rev Fr James D’Souza, Mr Nathesh V, Canara Bank Manager, Vamanjoor, Mr Dinesh Timber and Mr Nizam Ibrahim—whose long-standing association with the institution added warmth and significance to the occasion.

The event was enriched by the presence of the Bethany Management representatives Sr Mariola BS, the Education Co-Ordinator of Mangalore Province, Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS the Correspondent, and Sr Lavita Moras, Superior of St Raymond’s Convent, their leadership and constant support have played a vital role in shaping the college’s direction and growth, and their participation added dignity to the celebration. The presence of the PTA Members and Alumni Association—represented by Mr AK Mayyadi, Mr Mervin Vas, Mr Iliyas and Mr Prem D’Souza—brought a sense of pride and belonging, strengthening the bond that the institution shares with its wider community.

A special highlight of the programme was the honouring of Former Provincial Superiors, Correspondents, Principals, the Senior-most Lecturer and Donors. This meaningful gesture, led by Rev Sr Dr Sadhana, Principal, Mrs Vinitha Tauro and Mrs Anitha recognized and appreciated their invaluable contributions to the foundation and growth of the college. A warm welcome to the gathering was delivered by  Sr Cicilia Mendonca BS, Correspondent and celebratory tone for the event.

The Annual Report of the College was presented, capturing academic achievements, student initiatives, infrastructural development and the numerous activities undertaken during the year. A series of cultural performances further enriched the event, showcasing the talents of the students and capturing the spirit, values, and journey of the institution over the past twenty-five years.

 The celebration was anchored with clarity and poise by Mrs Likhitha and  Mrs Avita Menezes, who ensured a smooth and engaging flow throughout the programme. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs Savitha Menezes, acknowledging all who contributed towards making the Silver Jubilee celebration a memorable and meaningful success.

The Silver Jubilee celebration of St Raymond’s PU College stood as a proud testament to twenty-five years of commitment, excellence and service. The joyful presence of dignitaries, parents, alumni, staff, students and well-wishers made the occasion truly unforgettable, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s continuing journey.
