St Raymond’s PU College celebrated its Ray Sambram on 25.09.2025, a vibrant festival that showcased the talents, energy, and spirit of young students of local high School Students. The event beautifully combined cultural and sports activities, bringing together participants from various schools to share their skills and enthusiasm.
The celebration began with a soulful prayer led by the college choir under the guidance of Ms Anitha Ferrao, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries, symbolizing the spread of knowledge and enlightenment. The Inaugural address was rendered by Mr Mervin Jaison Vas, HOD and Assistant Professor at Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, and Commerce Management, who urged the students to give their best, discover their potential, and enjoy the spirit of healthy competition. Sr Savitha, Asst. Directress of Rosa Mystica Novitiate joined the programme.The programme was Presided over by Sr Dr Sadhana BS, in her presidential message encouraged the participants to make the most of such opportunities, to grow not only in academics but also in cultural and sports activities, and to carry forward the values of discipline, dedication, and teamwork.
The cultural segment featured a variety of performances, including music, dance, and drama. The participants displayed remarkable creativity and talent, which was judged by Sr Savitha, Assistant Novitiate Directress, Mr Mervin Vas, and Mrs Avita Menezes, Lecturer in Computer Science.
Inter-school sports competitions added further vibrancy to the fest, encouraging teamwork, healthy competition, and physical fitness among students. These events were meticulously coordinated by the organizing team comprising Mrs Savitha Menezes, Mrs Vinitha Tauro, and Mr Jayaram, ensuring smooth and fair conduct of all activities. The success of the celebration was made possible by the wholehearted support and cooperation of all the teaching and non-teaching faculty, who stood behind every activity and contributed to its smooth execution.
Mrs Avita Menezes accorded a warm welcome to all, while Mrs Savitha Menezes efficiently anchored the programme. The Prize Distribution Ceremony was led by Mrs Likhitha, recognizing the outstanding efforts of the winners. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mrs Lidwin Crasta, who expressed gratitude to the participants, judges, teachers, and organizers for making Ray Sambram a resounding success.
