St Raymond PU College joyfully celebrated the 104th Foundation Day of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany with heartfelt reverence and enthusiasm on July 15, 2024. This significant occasion commemorates the founding of the Bethany Congregation by Rev Fr Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas in Mangalore, Karnataka, on July 16, 1921.

The celebration began with a Solemn Holy Eucharist, officiated by Rev Fr Leo Moras from the Ajmer Diocese. In his spiritually enriching homily, he encouraged students to discover and cultivate their God-given talents. He reminded them that true success in academics and life comes through discipline, dedication, and diligent effort.

The atmosphere of the Mass was elevated by the melodious and devout singing of the college choir, led by Master Ashith Sanchith Albuquerque, adding a prayerful aura to the celebration.

At 10. 00 am, a tableau presentation highlighting the life and legacy of Fr Founder Raymond Mascarenhas, along with the formation and evolution of the Bethany Congregation, was staged under the guidance of Mrs Avita Menezes, Lecturer in Computer Science. The presentation was both inspiring and enlightening, offering a deeper understanding of the Founder’s vision and the congregation’s enduring mission.

In a heartfelt tribute, the Principal, Sr Dr Sadhana BS, along with faculty members, offered flowers before the portrait of the Founder, expressing profound gratitude and reverence for his selfless service and visionary leadership.

Addressing the gathering, Sr Dr Sadhana BS thanked God for the precious gift of the Bethany Congregation and encouraged the students to embrace and live out its values — faith, service, and the pursuit of excellence in education.

The event concluded with staff and students extending their Foundation Day wishes by symbolically offering a sapling, signifying growth, hope, and new beginnings. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of the Bethany Core Values — God Experience, Communion, Collaboration, Team Spirit, and Excellence — fostering the holistic development of every student in the Raymondian community.

The day was indeed a memorable milestone in the history of St Raymond PU College — one that deepened the collective spirit of gratitude, unity, and purpose.
