Aided Sacred Hearts’ High School, Kulshekar

The vision of Servant of God Mgr Raymond FC Mascarenhas Founder of Bethany Congregation started a high school to provide better education to the youth of the Kulshekar vicinity and established the school in the year 1943. His dream came into reality when humble beginnings were made for Girls Secondary School at Kulshekar. It was inaugurated on 4th June 1943 under the First Headmistress Miss Laxmi Bai and succeeded in the following year by Sr M Bertha BS.  It began on a modest scale with only three classes. In three successive years after the inception, the Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Forms were introduced, so that the first batch appeared for the SSLC Examination in 1947. They were 67 in number. Today the strength has grown to 344 and the school has spread the light of education to thousands of students.

Sacred Hearts High School presently imparts co-education. It belongs to Bethany Educational Society Mangalore. It is in the 82th year of its journey of dedicated service. In the year 1984 English Medium sections were included. Over the years the school has rendered credible services to society through the intellectual and moral formation of the young who in years have carried aloft the values and ideals imbibed within its portals.

The commitment and loving services of all the headmistress, correspondents, and teaching and non-teaching staff are noteworthy and make Sacred Hearts flag fly high. The credit and glory of the remarkable achievements must go to its Founder, the pioneering Sisters, the bold undertakings of all the headmistresses, the devotedness of the staff, the cooperation of the parents, and in no small measures the enduring efforts of our students of whom the school can rightly be proud of.

Students get ample opportunities to participate in all the co-curricular activities and participate in all competitions. A lot of prizes and honours are bagged by our students at the departmental and public levels.

We have a band of committed 12 staff and 5 non-teaching staff who work hard to impart Transformative education for the fullness of Life. Sacred Hearts assures the development of all students to the fullest, and it offers opportunities at all levels. May Sacred Hearts work for the greater Glory of God.
