The Rosa Mystica Community celebrated a profound and spiritually enriching event—the Jubilee of the Word of God. This special occasion brought together the entire campus community, including candidates, novices, tertians, hostelites and sisters, to celebrate and reflect on the sacred and transformative power of God’s Word. The celebration was not only a time of togetherness but also an opportunity to deepen each participant’s connection to the Divine through prayer, scripture, and shared reflection.
The event began with a solemn procession, led by Sr Leena Pereira, the Superior, who carried the Bible as the community gathered to honor the Word of God. The symbolic enthronement of the Word was a central part of the ceremony, emphasizing the reverence and respect accorded to Sacred Scripture. As a sign of devotion, the community garlanded the Word of God and performed the Maha Arathi, a ritual of light and worship.
Various readings were thoughtfully chosen to inspire reflection and spiritual growth. These passages were read aloud, followed by moments of silent contemplation, allowing each participant to internalize and reflect deeply on the messages within the scriptures. The readings were accompanied by prayers and psalms, enriching the experience and fostering a sense of unity and devotion among all who participated.
A key moment of the celebration focused on the contemplation of the sufferings of Jesus, with participants reflecting on the appropriate Word of God that recounts His sacrifices for humanity. This time of reflection was a powerful reminder of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice, inviting each sister to connect personally with the depth of His love and suffering.
The event was a unique and transformative experience for all involved. Sr Divina, a spiritual leader within the community, guided the entire procedure with grace and wisdom. Her leadership, along with the support of the sisters, ensured that the celebration proceeded with reverence and deep spiritual engagement. The Jubilee of the Word of God was not only an occasion to celebrate Sacred Scripture but also a time to renew everyone’s commitment to living out the teachings of the Bible in their daily lives.
In essence, this celebration was a great opportunity for the community to come together, reflect on the transformative power of God’s Word, and recommit to living in accordance with its teachings.
