The Provincial Assembly of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, Mangalore Province, was held from August 29th to 31st, 2025, at the Bethany Provincialate in Vamanjoor. The Assembly was presided over by Rev Sr Lilly Pereira, Provincial Superior. In her keynote address, she focused on “Fostering Inclusivity and Diversity in Communities,” emphasizing the importance of embracing differences and building unity in communities and accepting the uniqueness of each one.

The participants included the Provincial Team, animators of local communities, Novice Directress and administrator of Concetta Hospital, who actively engaged in the sessions and discussions.

The resource person for the Assembly was Rev Dr Fr Biju Sebastian, MI, Superior of Snehadhan, Kinnikambla addressed the topic “Managing Stress and Burnout in Everyday Life.” He explained that stress, in psychological terms, refers to the body’s and mind’s natural response to demands, changes, or challenges—whether positive or negative. God has created our bodies with a remarkable system to help us cope with these challenges. When we face a demanding situation—such as illness in the community, a heavy workload, or a sudden problem—the brain releases stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol. This triggers the “fight-or-flight” response, preparing us physically to face the challenge.

The input sessions provided participants with practical tips to recognize the symptoms of burnout. Province coordinators also presented reports, outlining action plans for various apostolates within the province.

The Assembly offered a meaningful platform for sharing, learning, and renewing commitment to the mission.
