The Pastoral, BLA and Founder’s Cause annual meet of the Mangalore Province was held on 25th August 2025 at Bethany Provincialate, Vamanjoor on the theme ‘Pastoring with faith in a fast moving culture’. Sr Reena as the facilitator brought newness for the whole programe. Sr Lidwin Jyothi brought the spiritual beginning by seeking the blessings of the Trinity. Sr Flavia Wilma the co-ordinator for Pastoral apostolate welcomed the gathering.
Sr Lilly Pereira BS the Provincial Superior, in her opening message focusing on the theme highlighted the modern issues of the families such as, media effects, deteriorating faith, lack of soil for growth etc. She called upon the members to rediscover the Gospel values, with a purposeful visit to the families, adding young members for BLA units, brining Christ’s encounter to those who are out.
Rev Fr Joackim Fernandes the Parish Priest of Kinnigoli was the resource person of the day. Sr Gracy Bennis accorded warm welcome to the resource person who is full of passion for the Church of God.
Fr Joackim called upon the sisters to reflect on Rom 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind”. He opened the minds of the gathered community to the reality of fast-moving culture and its characteristics, our pastoral response, skills for pastoring in a fast world, rootedness in our own faith and my pastoral commitment.
He also said that to make our pastoral visit not just a social visit but an effective spiritual visit which strengthens the bond of relationship. Sr Precilla expressed the gratitude to Fr Joackim for his inspiring session and for zeal and love for pastoral ministry.
In the general session the action plan for all Pastoral, BLA and Founder’s Cause was planned. At the end Sr Lilly Pereira the Provincial Superior in her concluding message called upon the sisters to make the pastoral visit a meaningful and joyful one with a purpose. Quoting Mt 10: 20 “I am with you always” sent us forth to revive the pastoral spirit and encouraged the sisters to carry forward pastoral visits imbued with joy, purpose, and a renewed pastoral spirit.and zeal by being more effective in our pastoral mission the first and foremost mission of the Church. Sr Gracy Monica extended her thanks for the thoughtful arrangements that facilitated the day’s flow.
