Onam Celebration at St Raymond’s PU College, Vamanjoor

The festival of Onam was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm at  St Raymond’s PU College, Vamanjoor. The program was presided over by Rev Dr Sr Sadhana BS, Principal of the College. Mrs Harinakshi, Lecturer in Commerce, and Mrs Savitha Menezes, Lecturer in Economics were the guests of the day.

The celebration began with a colorful procession, followed by a prayer service invoking blessings for the occasion. The highlight of the inaugural part was the unveiling of the “Ray Tharangam” banner, marking the formal commencement of the festivities.

A series of cultural programs showcasing the talent and creativity of the students reflected the traditions, music, and dance forms associated with Onam.

In her Presidential Address, Rev Dr Sr Sadhana BS highlighted the significance of Onam as the most cherished festival of Kerala. She reminded the gathering of the values symbolized by Onam—the message of unity, equality, prosperity, and harmony during the golden reign of King Mahabali. She emphasized that the festival is not merely a celebration, but also a reminder that true happiness lies in sharing with others, living in harmony, and fostering a community of love and peace.

She further expressed her deep appreciation and gratitude to the college cabinet members, teachers, students, and well-wishers whose efforts, sacrifices, and contributions made the program a grand success.

The entire program was beautifully organized by the College Cabinet under the guidance of Mrs Likhitha, Mrs Sandhya, Mr Ravichandra, and Mr Jayaram. The day concluded on a note of joy, togetherness, and cultural pride, truly capturing the spirit of Onam.
