Rosa Mystica PU College, Kinnikambla, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its NSS Annual Camp, held at Little Flower High School, Kinnigoly. The inaugural function took place on 27th September at 2.00 pm in the school auditorium, in the presence of a host of dignitaries, staff, and enthusiastic NSS volunteers.
The event was presided over by Sr Dr Mariola BS, Assistant Provincial Superior and Coordinator for Education. In her presidential address, she emphasized the profound value of service through the NSS platform, stating that “NSS teaches us to serve the society rather than just receive from it. It is through service that we grow, and in giving, we discover and develop our talents.”
The program commenced with a warm welcome by Mrs Sujatha Sanil. The NSS volunteers led the gathering into a prayerful ambiance with, followed by a welcome dance. They also presented the NSS Anthem and vibrant group songs, which added vibrance to the programme.
The ceremony was officially inaugurated by lighting the traditional diya, symbolizing the light of service and learning. This was followed by the NSS oath-taking, led by Sr Anita Lydia, Principal of Rosa Mystica PU College.
Rev Fr Lancy Saldanha, Principal of St Mary’s Central School, Kinnigoli, offered prayers and shared his blessings. He highlighted that NSS provides a strong foundation for leadership and responsible citizenship, encouraging students to take up initiatives for the greater good of society.
A special address was delivered by Shri K Bhuvanabhirama Udupa, Editor of Yugapurusha, who highly appreciated the commendable services rendered by Little Flower institutions. He specifically acknowledged the dedicated efforts of Mr Avil Dilva, NSS Coordinator, praising his hard work and vibrant involvement with the student volunteers.
