The Zonal Level Bethany Lay Associates (BLA) Convention was held on 22.10.2025 at Maryvale Convent, Kinnigoli, with active participation from the BLA units of Kinnigoli, Balkunje, Neerude, Kinnikambla, Mulki, and Kirem. 65 BLA members were present. The theme of the Convention was “St Therese of Child Jesus is an inspiration for our missionary work”
Sr Dona, the President of the programme, thanked all the units for their dedication to the Bethany mission. Drawing inspiration from St. Therese of the Child Jesus and Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas, she highlighted their deep love for the Eucharist and their total surrender to God.
Fr Simon Clifford Fernandes, Headmaster of Holy Redeemer School, Belthangady, in his talk encouraged the members to live their missionary call through small acts of love in daily life. He also celebrated the Eucharist. The afternoon featured a Medicinal Sapling Presentation, where Kinnikambla Unit won first place and Neerude Unit second. In the Founder’s Quiz, Kinnikambla again secured first place, followed by Mulki. The Best Photo Competition was won by Neerude Unit.
In her concluding message, Sr Shalet DSouza urged everyone to “walk the simple and humble way to attain holiness.” The convention ended with renewed enthusiasm to live the Bethany spirit and serve the Lord with joy.
