“Go Green, Live Green” – A Celebration of Environmental Responsibility
A vibrant and inspiring celebration of Environment Day unfolded on June 25, 2025, at the Shubada Centre, Suralpady, organized by Shubada Society under the theme “Go Green, Live Green.” The programme brought together members of the local community with a shared purpose of promoting environmental awareness and nurturing ecological responsibility.
The event commenced at 11.30 am in a prayerful atmosphere, with a melodious hymn sung by the students of Government Higher Primary School, Suralpady, invoking God’s blessings on the day’s proceedings. Guests were warmly welcomed by the symbolic gesture of offering a sapling, reinforcing the day’s message of environmental care and growth.
The occasion was graced by the presence of Sr Flavia Wilma, Secretary of the Shubada Centre and Chief Guest; Sr Navya Prashanthi, Directress of the Shubada Trust; Mrs Cynthi, teacher from Government Higher Primary School, Suralpady; Sr Dencilla, member of St Joseph’s Convent, Suralpady; along with SHG members and 25 enthusiastic students.
The formal inauguration was marked by the watering of a plant by the guests of honour, symbolizing a collective commitment to nurture the Earth. The highlight of the event was a thought-provoking and heartfelt address by Sr Flavia, who invited everyone to recognize the Earth as a precious gift from God and take up the responsibility of protecting it. Her words inspired the gathering to embrace small, meaningful actions that contribute to a greener and more sustainable world.
As a visible expression of this commitment, a sapling was planted on the campus, embodying the love and care for Mother Earth. Special appreciation was extended to Jeevandhara Social Centre, Kulshekar, whose generous donation of plants contributed significantly to the success and beauty of the programme.
The event concluded joyfully with the distribution of snacks at 12.30 pm, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of purpose and ecological responsibility. The entire programme was gracefully compered by Sr Aruna, Coordinator of the Shubada Trust, whose dedicated presence added charm and order to the day’s celebration.
