With hearts filled with gratitude and joy, the Bethany Lay Associates (BLA) of St Raymond’s Convent, Vamanjoor, joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Bethany Saints and BLA Day on July 29, 2025. The evening unfolded with prayer, reflection, and vibrant cultural expressions that beautifully captured the spirit of Bethany.
The celebration commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration at 5.30 pm, presided over by Fr Joachim Dsouza, OFM Cap, Assistant Parish Priest of Holy Family Church, Bramavara, Udupi. In his homily, he reflected on the lives of Martha and Mary, urging the faithful to balance contemplation and service, the hallmarks of Christian discipleship.
Following the Eucharist, at 6.30 pm, a delightful cultural program was presented by the nineteen active BLA members. The evening was enriched with meaningful skits, graceful dances, and humorous acts, all inspired by the life and mission of the Servant of God RFC Mascarenhas.
Sr Mariola, the Assistant Provincial Superior, was the chief guest. She appreciated the members’ dedication and invited them to continue living the Bethany spirit in their daily lives. Sr Gracy Bennis welcomed the gathering warmly, and Ms Nirmala presented the annual report highlighting the group’s spiritual and social initiatives.
Sr Lavita Moras, Superior of the community, expressed heartfelt gratitude and encouraged the members to serve with selflessness. The presence of BLA family members, sisters of the community and provincialate added warmth and unity to the celebration. Mrs Anitha Colaco delivered the vote of thanks, and Mrs Daisy compered the event with grace. A joyful fellowship meal concluded the evening.
