On the 9th of August, the long-awaited Adivasi Day finally dawned. Children dressed in vibrant Adivasi attire gathered eagerly for the celebration. The revered tribal leader Birsa Munda was honoured, and a lively procession followed, filled with singing and dancing.

A colourful stage programme was organised, where students from various village schools showcased a variety of cultural performances, each reflecting the richness of tribal heritage. Distinguished guests addressed the gathering, appreciating the invaluable contribution of Adivasi communities to India’s culture and identity.

After the formal programme, a sumptuous meal was served. The hostel children especially looked forward to the timbli, garba (Gujarati folk dances), and the traditional Adivasi dance. They danced with unrestrained joy, their spirits soaring with each beat of the drum. The festive celebration concluded sweetly—with ice cream for all.
