The need for an English Medium Pre-Primary and Primary school at Vamanjoor was strongly felt by the local community, as there was no feeding school into St Raymond English Medium High School.

What began as a dream soon became a reality, thanks to the persistent efforts of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) members of St Raymond High School. They personally approached the President and Secretary of the Bethany Educational Society to present the request. Despite the Bethany Educational Society's initial decision not to establish any pre-primary school at Vamanjoor, but the heartfelt plea from the people was accepted, turning the dream into a reality.

On 15th June 2011, under the able leadership of Sr M Christella BS, the Provincial Superior of the Mangalore Province, St Raymond School opened its doors with three classes: Pre-KG, LKG, and UKG, enrolling just 20 students. Sr Patrina the High School Headmistress was In Charge of the same. Then Sr Lidwin Jyothi was appointed as the In-Charge Headmistress. In 2012, the primary school (1st to 5th standard) was introduced, and Sr Jyothika was appointed as the In-charge Headmistress of the primary section after Sr Lidwin Jyothi moved on to pursue her Bed studies.

In 2013, Sr Jyothika also furthered her education, and Sr Lidwin Jyothi returned as the Headmistress. She dedicated herself to overcoming the challenges faced by the school, ensuring its growth and success. In 2014, Sr Liandra took charge of the Kindergarten section, followed by Sr Marcellinus, who led the KG section from 2015 to 2017.

In 2017, Sr Rita Sharal was appointed as Headmistress, bringing her passion and enthusiasm to the role, continuing to build on the foundation laid by her predecessors. In 2021, Sr Lavita Moras was appointed as Headmistress and continues to guide the school’s growth and development.

Since its inception, St Raymond English Medium Higher Primary School has been dedicated to providing quality education and fostering the holistic development of its students. Emulating the vision of Mgr Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas, the Founder of the Bethany Congregation, the school strives for “Transformative Education towards Fullness of Life.”

At present (2024-2025) the school is home to 15 teaching staff and 5 non-teaching staff who work tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of the institution.  422 students enrolled from Kindergarten to 7th standard, the school offers a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities that foster creativity, innovation, and a love for learning. Students are given ample opportunities to grow spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. The institution prioritizes faith formation, character development, and academic excellence, conducting value-based programs to instil discipline and good character in all its students.
