The Bethany Educational Society ® Mangalore was running Aided Madeleine Hr Pry and Madeleine High School at Mulki for many decades. The people of the locality felt that there is a need for an English Medium School by the Bethany Sisters. It remained as a dream for some years.

Later this dream was represented to the BES Management by the parents. In response to their appeal, the Bethany English Medium Higher Primary School was established on 1st June 2005. In the beginning classes were conducted in the Technical School at the Madeleine Convent premises. Sr Regina took up the challenge of heading this institution with 11 students enrolled for Std I, 6 for UKG and 10 for LKG classes.

At Bethany our aim is to establish a culture that fosters diligence, sincerity and accountability, whereby our students develop a passion forearming that will serve throughout and beyond school years. We Endeavour to promote the pursuit of excellence and achievements for every student to enable him/her to optimize his/her potential. Our goal is to create and maintain an ethos that encourages high academic standards, self-reliance, co - operation, enthusiasm and initiative. The school comes with an uncompromising commitment. It aims to achieve specific, measurable, observable and quantifiable results among all aspirants/students. Because the School has a vision to provide value based education to young minds and provide a dynamic learning environment.

However, the School aegis for every student who strive for excellence through active learning and education. Moreover, the School has the core committed faculty which has come from accomplished backgrounds with vast experience.

With the motto of excellence in education and all round development, Bethany School has successfully nurtured young minds over the last 20 years.

Extracurricular activities

Activities available to students include participation in the quiz club, literary club, dramatics club and various music and dance clubs.The school is renowned for various activities, some of which are exclusive hallmark of the school.

We are a proud family of 463 students, 21 teachers, 5 support staff.

FAITH FORMATION: The Morning Prayer is conducted for all students. A general assembly is held weekly where in importance is given to all religions and students get a chance to showcase their talents. The afternoon session commences with a prayer. Prayer day is conducted annually for all students. Through Value Education classes, moral values like forgiveness, tolerance, simplicity, politeness, integrity, patriotism etc are inculcated in students to make us better citizens of the country.

INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT:

We believe that learning takes place all the time and everywhere. Through quiz programmes, debates, Olympiad, recitation, storytelling and mono acting it develops in us a thirst for knowledge which can be integrated in life. Discipline, cleanliness, academic excellence, exhibition of science models and club activities inculcate the spirit to pursue academic goals and relate them to daily life.
Notice board competition helps to bring out the creativity in students as well as in the teachers.

EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

In order to develop a positive self image, training in cultural activities like  sports and games is provided which helps to accept both victory and defeat in the right spirit. Yoga and Karate classes improve physical and mental health.

SOCIAL CONCERN: To imbibe the spirit of compassion and social responsibility towards the weaker and underprivileged sections of society a sharing day is observed in the school. Students bring gifts in cash or kind, which are later distributed to the ashrams, old age homes and needy people of the city.
