Bethany Shanthi Nilaya, Humnabad

Bethany Shanthi Nilaya is named after Queen Mother of Peace. It was Inaugurated on 12-11-2001. Sisters Fidelis, Florita and Lucian as the beginners were staying from 12-11-2001 in this new convent. The grace filled and historical moment in the annals of the congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany, was on 5^th June 2003 (05-06-2003) where in 143^rd community of the Congregation was canonically erected at Humnabad of Bidar Mission. This is the second community of Bethany Sisters in Bidar district.

Sr Lillis the delegate of Superior General, Sr Jyothi the General Councilor, Sr Inviolatha the then Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province, Rev Fr Leo Veigus the Director of Mariashram Jalasngi center and the assistant to the Episcopal Vicar of Bidar mission, Rev Fr Elias Martis, Director of Ghandhi Nagar Talmadigi, Bro Prakash and Bro Santhoish the regents, Sisters of Sevashram and Bethany Sahnthi Nilaya were present for the Canonical Erecting of the New community.

Sr Inviolatha the then Provincial Superior Installed Sr Agnesia Frank BS as the First Superior of the Bethany Shanthi Nilaya and the community consisting of Sisters Lucian, Regis, Fedilis, Jyothi Wilma and Navya Prashanthi.

The Sy. No 117/2B2 consists of 02 acres of land, out of which 01 acre 20 Guntas were converted into N. A on 27-10-2023 for the purpose of imparting quality education to the poor and needy, to the weaker section and minority students of public in and around Humnabad Sy. No-117/3B Consists 0.39 acres of land, total 2. 39 acres.

As there was no proper school building in the campus for higher education it was decided by the province to put up a new School Building this year, with better educational facilities and modern infrastructure. On November 23^rd 2024 Saturday at 10.00am, the foundation stone was laid for the New School building by Rev Sr Dr Lilly Pereira BS, the Provincial Superior of Mangalore Province, Blessed by Fr Victor Anil Vas the Director of ORBIT.

 In our Shanthi Kiran Technical Institute at present Bethany English medium classes are held from KG to 10^th standard. As there is no space to conduct technical courses for the time being all other courses are withheld except computer classes and spoken English. During the year very few students come and learn. In April /May more will be joining both the courses as they have holiday. We strive to bring about quality education with Christ’s value and thus make a difference. Meetings of bidar mission are attended and we keep abreast with the mission work. Sisters visit houses constantly and try to get to know the people their family etc. we go to attend Bcc prayers, rosaries, sick visits and for different celebrations.  In the church sisters are actively involved in the liturgy, teaching catechism and training the youth and children in their respective groups.

At present in the convent campus, preliminary preparation for the construction of the new school building is going on, along with-it renovation of the community building is also planned. We pray and trust in the divine providence of God for his assistance and for the success of this new project.
