Visitation Convent, Kadaba

Fr Founder Mgr RFC Mascarenhas’ first love was mission station and its people. He was deeply interested in the life of the people of his beloved missions Rev Fr Lawrence Gomes, the parish priest of St Joachim‘s Church, Kadaba was amazed at the joyful disposition of the Bethany Sisters to work in missions and welcomed them to open a community which was canonically erected on 31^st May ,1972 ,on the Feast of the Visitation of our Lady.

The parish priest felt the need of the presence of the sisters especially to take care of the orphanage and also the school.

Sr Avina was the first superior of the community.

The land which we belong was to us is under Diocese of Mangalore. We cultivate coconuts, pepper, Vegetables and some fruit trees.

The building is 52 years old. We have sufficient place for our living.

The present activities are as follows:

Sr Hilda Rodrigues is the Headmistress of St Joachim’s Higher Pry School, Kadaba.  Sr Gretta Mascarenhas is the Asst Teacher. Sr Saritha Marita is BEd student. We are actively involved in the Parish activity.

We take part in teaching Catechism, Altar Boys Sodality, Women Association, SCC meetings, Visiting the families, BLA and Adult education.
