Farewell ceremony of Sr Precilla Flory D’Souza at Madeleine School Mulki

“A good teacher is like a candle it consumes itself to light the way for others.”

A heartfelt farewell ceremony was organized on March 28, 2026, to bid farewell to Sr Precilla Flory D’Souza, our esteemed Headmistress, on her retirement after 34 years of dedicated and invaluable service to the institution.

The programme commenced at 10.00 am with a prayer service, followed by a graceful welcome dance. Sr Gretta Mascarenhas, In-charge Headmistress, extended a warm welcome and, in her address, highlighted Sr Precilla Flory’s unwavering dedication and significant contributions to the growth and success of the school.

The students then shared their personal experiences, expressing how Sr Precilla had inspired them and fostered a nurturing and positive learning environment. On behalf of the teaching staff, Mr Coney Vaz shared his heartfelt experiences of working under her able leadership.

The function was presided over by Dr Sr Lilly Pereira, Corporate Manager of BES, Mangalore, who expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for Sr Precilla’s committed service. Rev Fr Sylvester D’Costa, Vicar of St Anna Church, Kelarai, invoked God’s blessings upon the gathering and conveyed his best wishes for her future.

Sr Mariola, the Correspondent of the school, and Sr Meena, Superior of Madeleine Convent, along with Sr Precilla’s family members, colleagues, and well-wishers, graced the occasion with their presence.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by the presentation of a memento and a buffet lunch, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a remarkable educator and inspiring leader.
