Industrial Visit by Madeleine PU College Students

Mrs Lonita Andrade

On September 12, 2025, the Principal, faculty members, and 60 students of I PUC visited the Vijayavani Printing Press located in Kulur. The visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to the newspaper printing industry.

Upon arrival, the press executives warmly welcomed us and conducted an informative tour of the facility. They explained the entire newspaper production process, including news collection, editing, page layout design, and the final printing procedures. Students observed the step-by-step operations involved in bringing a newspaper to life.

One of the key highlights of the visit was learning about the raw materials, particularly the newsprint paper sourced from Russia, and understanding the sophisticated machinery involved in the printing process. The visit also shed light on the challenges and hard work undertaken by employees to ensure timely and accurate newspaper production every day.

Overall, the industrial visit was a highly enriching and educational experience, giving students valuable insights into the functioning of the printing industry. It bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enhancing our understanding of mass communication and industrial operations.

We are especially grateful to the Vijayavani Press management for their generous hospitality – providing transportation for our students and offering snacks and juice, which made the visit more enjoyable.
